Santa Paula AWAKE  (Archive of Wisdom, Advocacy, Knowledge, and Experience)

In an effort to preserve and archive the wisdom, advocacy efforts, and vast body of knowledge and experience possessed by the diverse body of community leaders that make up Santa Paula Latino Town Hall, we have developed the Santa Paula AWAKE project. The goal of this project is to develop a database of personal narratives about the history of Santa Paula policies, initiatives, and progress. As we collect these narratives, we will begin to provide links to them from this page. If you would like to contribute a narrative, please email it to Kristin Majda at kmajda@yahoo.com. We invite any relevant contributions, but some topics are listed below to provide guidance as needed.

  • Agriculture, Business and Commerce
  • City Planning and Beautification
  • Civil Rights
  • Community Organizations
  • Employment
  • Farm Workers & Immigration
  • Health Care and Mental Health
  • Historic Headlines
  • Local Heroes & Notable Citizens
  • Poverty, Homelessness, and Housing
  • Youth, Schools & Education
